HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Hot Springs has done it again! Once again, Hot Springs was awarded the designation of Top Arkansas Adventure Town by Arkansas Outside. The award is a repeat of the top ranking in the reader’s survey competition held five years ago.
Since that time, the recent addition of the Northwoods trail system and improvements at Cedar Glades have contributed to the popularity of the destination and its national reputation as an outdoor recreation hot spot.
Visit Hot Springs CEO Steve Arrison said, “Our whole city tries hard every day to provide a great experience for all of our hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to Hot Springs to enjoy our hiking, biking, camping, fishing, baseball, boating, and other outdoor recreation opportunities. We also like it that Arkansas Outside recognizes that Hot Springs offers plenty of fun things to do – Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort, Garvan Woodland Gardens, and more – after you store your bike, take off your hiking boots, and pack the camping gear at Lake Ouachita and Lake Catherine State Parks.”
Arkansas Outside specializes in covering participatory sports such as running, cycling, climbing, hiking, and paddle sports. It is the state’s primary chronicler of outdoor events and reader’s choice surveys about outdoor recreation.
“But we’re not resting on our laurels. We’re already working on even more ways to retain our crown”, said Arrison.
